Energy From Sun The New Age Source Of Power Generation

Energy From Sun The New Age Source Of Power Generation
In this age of energy crises and environmental consciousness, the use of fossil fuels pollute our environment. At the same time, when fossil fuels are depleting rapidly, the need of the hour for us is to look at ways to access alternate sources of energy.

Of all the alternate energy sources, solar energy can be used for myriad applications like heating, cooking, generating electricity, air conditioning etc. The energy from the sun comes to us in two forms i.e. Heat and Radiation.

Jakson Power Solutions' first 20MW solar IPP project, commissioned at BAP, Jodhpur District, Rajasthan

Depending on whether the SOLAR POWER PLANTS use the heat or the radiation from the sun to generate electricity, these products are classified as solar thermal power plants or solar PV plants respectively. Solar modules are the basic building blocks of the Solar Photo-Voltaic power plant. They consist of a number of cells, which are connected in the form of a series-parallel combination. These cells by photo-voltaic action convert the solar radiations into DC electricity. Numbers of Solar modules are again connected in series to form a 'String'. The Strings are connected to the String Combiner Boxes, from where the generated DC power is fed to the inverters, which converts DC into the AC power supply.

Thus, with countless avenues available for utilizing the solar energy, industry prospects look high on the whole.
